Volunteers In Mission

Volunteers in Mission are committed individuals who offer their skills, talents and resources to serve in local, national and global missions.  Individuals minister to the poor and disadvantaged, build or repair churches, homes or mission facilities; assist in disaster recovery efforts, and so much more.

The St. James VIM Team participates in many service activities. In February 2024, we assembled hygiene kits at the Missouri Conference Disaster Depot. In April 2024, a team of 25 volunteers traveled to Sager-Brown, the United Methodist Committee on Relief Supply Depot, in Baldwin, Louisiana. Volunteers spent a week, operating a drive thru food pantry, assembling hygiene kits, serving at a domestic violence shelter, building a handicapped ramp, and planting a garden among other tasks.

Future plans include a trip to the Midwest Mission Distribution Center in Pawnee, Illinois and an international mission trip to Mozambique in 2026.
