Groups
Growth Groups
One way of connecting people to God in practical ways is enjoying the experience of studying and growing in a small group setting.
Short-Term Groups
Many have experienced the benefits of studying for a season (Advent and Lent), discipleship classes, or other special church wide studies.
Affinity Groups
These groups create a place for people to belong and connect with other individuals with shared identities or interests. The focus of these groups is to either engage in fellowship through an activity or service. If you have an idea for a new affinity group,.
Crochet Club – Join other crocheters to share projects, patterns, tips, and tricks. Learn a new skill, ask questions and fellowship. All skill levels are welcome to attend the monthly meetings on the 1st Thursday of each month at 6:00p. Contact Nyrobi Collins at ncollins@sjumckc.org.
If you are interested in joining an on-going Growth, Short-Term, or Affinity Group, or have an idea for a new group, contact Lynda Moore Walker at lmwalkhillcrest@yahoo.com.
United Methodist Men
When a man lives daily in surrendered faith, God is honored and many lives are blessed. Transformed hearts are forged only within Christ-centered lives, nothing less is our acceptable offering; nothing less truly reveals Christ. Our mission is to support spiritual growth among men, helping men to mature as disciples as they encourage spiritual formation in others. Contact Mike Hobson at limohop@gmail.com.
United Women in Faith
We connect spiritual women to act boldly for justice and transform communities. Bold action, like faith, takes courage. Our bravery is inspired by God’s love and our powerful commitment to improve the lives of women, children and youth. United Women in Faith works for justice through compassionate service and advocacy to change unfair policies and systems that harm women, children and youth—from racial and gender injustice to economic inequality, climate issues and more.
